About Mugen Reverse
Mugen Reverse is a real-time beat-synced reverse audio effect. It was designed and built in-house at Mugen IE Lab for producers who want a decisive tool rather than another menu of options.
Under the hood Reverse brings together warping — each one tuned by ear against real records, not just measured on a graph.
Drop Reverse on a channel, a bus or the mix and it stays out of your way. Parameters are automatable, state saves with your session, and the processing is transparent until you decide it should not be.
Reverse ships as AU and VST3, includes a standalone application, runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel. The installer is code-signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens without a Gatekeeper warning on a clean machine.

Installation

Download the installer
Download the signed Mugen Reverse macOS installer package from your account downloads page.
- 02
Run the package
Double-click the .pkg and follow the prompts. It is notarised by Apple, so no security override is needed.
- 03
Choose your formats
The installer places the AU and VST3 components into your system plug-in folders.
- 04
Rescan in your DAW
Restart your DAW so it picks up the new plug-in. Logic will validate the AU automatically on first launch.
- 05
Activate your licence
Open the plug-in and paste the licence key from your order email. Activation takes a few seconds and only needs doing once per machine.

Which formats and systems does Reverse support?
Mugen Reverse ships as AU and VST3, plus a standalone application for macOS 10.15 or later. It is a Universal 2 binary running natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Is the installer signed and notarised?
Yes. Every Mugen IE Lab installer is code-signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so it installs cleanly without Gatekeeper warnings.
How many computers can I install it on?
Your licence allows 3 simultaneous activations, which covers a studio machine and a laptop. You can deactivate a machine at any time from your account to free a slot.
Do I get free updates?
Yes. All point and minor updates to Reverse are free for life once you own it. Updates appear in your account and the plug-in can notify you when one is available.
Is there a Windows version?
Mugen IE Lab currently ships macOS builds. A Windows VST3 release is on the roadmap and licence keys will carry across when it arrives.
What is your refund policy?
Because plug-ins are digital goods delivered instantly, we ask that you try the demo where one is available. If a plug-in does not work on your system and we cannot resolve it with you, contact support within 14 days for a full refund.
