What we do
Mugen IE Lab designs and builds audio software for macOS. Every plugin in the catalogue is written from scratch — no white-labelled engines, no rebadged open source, no generic wrappers around someone else's DSP.
Every Mugen IE Lab plugin shares the same engine, design language and licence — so growing your collection feels like expanding one instrument, not managing a folder of separate downloads.
How we build
Every plugin starts as a problem in a real session. Something is missing, or something takes too many steps. The DSP gets prototyped, tuned by ear against actual records rather than only measured on a graph, then wrapped in an interface designed to get out of the way.
Nothing ships until it is a Universal 2 binary running natively on Apple Silicon and Intel, code-signed with our Apple Developer ID, and notarised by Apple. That last part matters: it means the installer opens on a clean machine with no security warning and no instructions to disable Gatekeeper.
