Installation

Every Mugen IE Lab plugin ships as a single signed .pkg installer for macOS.

1. Download the installer from your account or the downloads page.
2. Double-click the .pkg file.
3. Follow the prompts. Choose which formats to install if offered.
4. Restart your DAW so it rescans for new plugins.

Because our installers are notarised by Apple, you will not see a Gatekeeper warning. If you do see one, the file may be corrupted or tampered with — verify the SHA-256 on the downloads page before proceeding.

Licensing & activation

Your licence key arrives by email immediately after purchase and is also stored in your account.

1. Open the plugin in your DAW.
2. Paste your licence key into the activation screen.
3. Click Activate. This takes a few seconds and needs an internet connection.

Once activated the licence is cached locally, so the plugin works offline from then on.

Activation limits

Each licence allows three simultaneous activations. That is enough for a studio machine, a laptop and one spare.

Moving to a new machine

Deactivate on the old machine first, from the plugin's licence screen or your account. If the machine is gone, contact support and we will release the slot.

DAW setup

Logic Pro

Logic validates Audio Units on launch. If a plugin does not appear, open Logic Pro → Settings → Plug-in Manager, find the plugin and click Reset & Rescan Selection.

Ableton Live

Go to Settings → Plug-Ins and toggle Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders off and on to force a rescan.

FL Studio

Open Options → Manage plugins and click Find more plugins.

Studio One, Cubase, Reaper, Bitwig

All of these scan the standard system folders on launch. A restart is normally enough.

Updates

All point and minor updates within a major version are free for life. Download the newest installer and run it — it replaces the previous version in place. Your presets and licence are preserved.

Uninstalling

Delete the plugin bundles from the folders listed above. To also remove presets and settings, delete the matching folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Mugen IE Lab/.

Deactivate the licence first if you plan to use it on a different machine.

Troubleshooting

The plugin does not appear in my DAW

• Restart the DAW completely.
• Confirm the file exists in the install folder.
• Check the plugin format is one your DAW supports — Logic only loads AU, not VST3.
• Trigger a manual rescan in your DAW's plugin preferences.

Audio Unit validation fails in Logic

Run validation manually to see the reason:

auval -v aufx XXXX Xynt

Replace XXXX with the plugin code listed on its product page. Send us the output and we will diagnose it.

Activation will not complete

• Confirm you are online and no firewall is blocking the plugin.
• Check the key was pasted with no trailing spaces.
• If all three activation slots are used, deactivate one first.

Crackling or dropouts

Raise your audio buffer size. Some plugins oversample internally and need more headroom at very low buffer sizes.
